How best to open a meeting?

Meetings can sometimes be boring and sometimes you are not in the mood for a meeting because you know it will be boring. But if you are the one that speaks to the meeting, be sure to start with a joke or something like that and be sure that all from the conference room scheduling software system is in the room before you speak.
